The Signature Smile Dental team offers our patients in-chair or take-home teeth whitening treatments. It is important to take note that all patients who would like to do teeth whitening will need a check up and professional clean.
In-chair teeth whitening can be performed during your lunch hour, or on your way home after work. Utilising the latest in dental technology, our cosmetic dentists can help you to achieve your desired shade in a relatively short period of time.
If you would prefer to do your whitening at home; whitening kits are the second best option after in-chair whitening. Your dentist will inspect your mouth and take moulds and impressions to create a cast of your teeth to then make a custom tray for your teeth. Your dentist will then provide your take home kit to you.
You will wear the trays overnight for a period of time to be discussed with your cosmetic dentist. Take-home trays do take a bit longer to produce the desired result and are best if you have the time to spare.
If you have surface imperfections or would like to change the shape, size, length or colour of your teeth, porcelain veneers can be bonded to the exterior to improve the aesthetics of your smile.
Porcelain veneers are very thin covers that are adhered to the surface of your teeth and are so advanced now that they reflect the light in the same way that your tooth enamel would. Our skilled cosmetic dentists will ensure that your porcelain veneers look natural and compliment your smile.
If you have teeth that are worn, chipped or broken, discoloured, uneven or irregularly spaced, porcelain veneers can improve their appearance.
What are crowns?
Crowns can also be used to restore damaged teeth, in place of a large filling or cover an implant or tooth that has undergone root canal treatments. A crown effectively functions as a cap over a damaged tooth, but porcelain crowns can be shaped so that they blend in with your natural teeth and are virtually invisible to the untrained eye.
What are bridges?
Bridges are used as a replacement for one or multiple missing teeth. They literally bridge the gap left by missing teeth using the teeth next to the empty space for support. They can improve the appearance of your smile by filling any gaps and giving your face some shape.
A bridge has two abutments, or anchors for the crown that will replace your missing tooth. The replacement tooth is in the middle and will fill the gap when the abutments are bonded to your natural teeth.
Your dentist will model your bridge on your natural teeth by taking a cast of your mouth to get a realistic shape for the crowns. You may need a few visits to ensure the bridge fits well.
